East Hampton Golf Club has been a dream of the Bistrian family for many years.  Pete Bistrian, who owned and farmed potatoes on a portion of the land, first envisioned a golf course on the property as early as the mid-1940's.  In 1978 the Bistrian family broke ground on a nine hole golf course that Pete Bistrian was instrumental in designing.  While it was a long wait before the course became a reality under Coore-Crenshaw's masterful guidance, the resulting eighteen hole golf course, which opened in 2000, is an absolute gem.  That was also the year Lee Munder partnered with the Bistrian family and together they have built an outstanding clubhouse and club.  Crenshaw attests, "we had a good time designing East Hampton and we think the course layout presents a challenging mix of holes".
